Found in the Western Ghats of the Deccan, Kokum, or Garcinia Indica bears red cherry-like fruits. These are well found in the regions of Maharashtra and Goa and their pulp is extracted to make the kokum juice. They are harvested in April-May and belong to the same genus as the fruit Mangosteen. It is rich in antioxidants, is great for your skin, and aids in proper digestion. It is a natural coolant and an energy booster.
